R.I.P MH370 // Sunday, March 30, 2014
5:53 AM
Recently, our Prime Minister, Dato' Seri Najib has announced that MH370 has ended in the Indian Ocean. Yes, this is very hard for us to accept that. How about the victim's family?? They really have been through a hard time.
But......
Never think that you are alone during this time of difficulty. Allah is with you and we, your brothers and sisters around the world, are with you. We feel your pain and we feel your suffering. We know that we will never understand your pain due to the fact that it was not our family involved but still, our shoulders are here for you to cry on, our hands are here to hold.
Remember your Creator at this time of pain and understand that like everything came from Him, everything has to return to Him.
There are three things that could sooth your aching heart. By adopting these three things, InshaAllah, Allah will grant you heart peace in this difficult time.
1. Patience
We know it’s easier said than done but the Ahadeeth promises great rewards and blessings for he who adopts patience at the time of difficulty.
Abu Hurairah RA narrates that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Allah, the Exalted says: I have no reward other than paradise for a believing servant of mine who remains hopes for reward (and adopts patience) when I take away his/her beloved from this world.” (Bukhari)
Speak to Allah at his time for Allah loves when a servant turns to Him at the time of difficulty. Allah grants abundant reward at the time of pain. Have hope that Allah will reward you and be patient. Yes, it won’t be easy to avoid crying but constantly make Dua and befriend Allah. He who befriends Allah is never abandoned.
2. Taqdeer
Of course, like all of us, you would want to know why. You would ask questions. This is natural. But as a Muslim, keep in mind that everything is decreed and we should never argue with Taqdeer. Taqdeer is a very difficult aspect to understand but we have to realize that when things don’t make sense to us it doesn’t mean that there is something wrong with it. Our understanding, just like our life, is limited. A person’s lifespan is decided before he/she enters this world. No matter what you, we or the Malaysian government can do, a person’s lifespan will not increase in the least.
3. Sadaqa
You might feel alone, you might feel like there’s nothing you can do at this point in time. Think again. We can still benefit the deceased by giving Sadaqa and doing good deeds on their behalf. We can recite a Khatam of Quraan on their behalf or 3 x Surah Ikhlaas which is equivalent to the entire Quraan in reward. We could give charity on behalf of the deceased as well.
“Al-’As ibn Wa’il left his will that a hundred slaves should be emancipated on his behalf. His son Hisham emancipated fifty slaves and his son Amr intended to emancipate the remaining fifty on his behalf, but he said: I should ask first the Apostle of Allah. He, therefore, came to the Holy Prophet and said: Apostle of Allah, my father left in his will that a hundred slaves should be emancipated on his behalf and Hisham has emancipated fifty on his behalf and fifty remain. Shall I emancipate them on his behalf The Apostle of Allah said: Had he been a Muslim and you had emancipated slaves on his behalf, or given Sadaqah on his behalf, or performed the pilgrimage, it would have reached him.” (Abu Daud)
Therefore,
On behalf of the entire Ummah, we make Dua that Allah grants you strength during this tough time. May Allah grant you patience and may He reunite your beloved with you in Jannatrulfirdaws. Ameen.
Remember, you are never alone. Allah is always with you.
